The 2024 Aranya Theater Festival is set to kick off on June 20 in Qinhuangdao, located in north China’s Hebei Province. This year’s festival will feature an eclectic lineup of 29 plays from around the world, highlighting the diversity and richness of global theatre.
For the first time, nine artistic directors from renowned theater festivals in eight countries—including France, Austria, Japan, and Australia—will bring their productions to China. This international collaboration marks a significant milestone in cultural exchange, offering audiences a unique opportunity to experience a fusion of global theatrical traditions.
As 2024 marks the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism, several theatrical works led by esteemed French directors and actors will be showcased. These performances aim to celebrate and strengthen the cultural ties between the two countries, emphasizing mutual appreciation and artistic collaboration.
The festival will run until June 30, providing ten days of immersive theatrical experiences for enthusiasts, professionals, and travelers alike. Attendees can expect a dynamic program that not only entertains but also fosters dialogue and understanding among diverse cultures.
