Violence Escalates in West Bank Amid Israeli Military Operations
The occupied West Bank has witnessed another deadly weekend, with Israeli forces conducting raids that resulted in the deaths of several Palestinians. On Sunday morning, the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) reported that its soldiers killed two Palestinians near Hebron. According to the IDF, one of the men “tried to stab IDF soldiers that were in the area,” while another allegedly opened fire on the troops.
This incident follows a significant raid less than a day earlier in Nur Shams, near the Palestinian city of Tulkarm, where Israeli forces killed at least 14 Palestinians. The operation began on Friday morning, and armed clashes between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian fighters continued into Saturday.
Since the start of the Gaza war last October, Israel has carried out a series of raids in the occupied West Bank. These operations have led to the arrest of thousands of individuals, including members of armed groups as well as civilians. The ongoing violence has heightened tensions in the region, raising concerns among international observers and local communities alike.
