Ugandan Official Praises South-South Cooperation for Boosting Agricultural Productivity

Uganda’s senior presidential advisor for agricultural matters, Rose Kabagyeni, has hailed the positive impact of South-South Cooperation on the country’s agricultural sector. In a recent interview with CGTN’s Hu Binyi, Kabagyeni highlighted how these collaborative efforts have significantly improved agricultural productivity and increased the incomes of local farmers.

“The South-South Cooperation has improved agricultural productivity and income of local people in Uganda,” Kabagyeni stated. She emphasized that through this partnership, Ugandan farmers have gained valuable knowledge and skills, enabling them to enhance their farming practices and livelihoods.

South-South Cooperation refers to the exchange of resources, technology, and knowledge between developing countries, particularly in the Global South. For Uganda, this collaboration has opened opportunities for learning from other nations facing similar agricultural challenges.

Kabagyeni noted that shared experiences and expertise have empowered farmers to adopt innovative techniques, improve crop yields, and access new markets. “Ugandan farmers gained shared knowledge and skills under the cooperation,” she added.

The collaborative efforts have not only fostered economic growth but also strengthened ties between Uganda and its partners in the Global South. By focusing on mutual development, countries involved in South-South Cooperation aim to achieve sustainable growth and reduce poverty.
