Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Central African Republic counterpart, Sylvie Baipo-Temon, in Beijing on Monday, pledging to enhance cooperation across various fields and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized China’s commitment to supporting the Central African Republic (CAR) in exploring a development path suited to its national conditions. He reiterated China’s readiness to collaborate closely with the CAR, deepening strategic mutual trust and friendly cooperation.
He expressed China’s willingness to enhance cooperation in infrastructure development, green initiatives, medical and health care, education and training, as well as security and law enforcement. Wang Yi called on the CAR to create a secure environment for Chinese enterprises investing and operating within the country.
Minister Baipo-Temon appreciated China’s principle of non-interference in other countries’ internal affairs, affirming the CAR’s firm adherence to the one-China principle and support for China in safeguarding its core interests.
She noted that the CAR is a steadfast supporter of China’s global initiatives and is eager to enhance friendly cooperation to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Baipo-Temon confirmed the CAR’s participation in the forthcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, aiming to advance the construction of an Africa-China community with a shared future.
Following their talks, the two foreign ministries issued a joint statement on promoting the implementation of three global initiatives, further solidifying their commitment to deepening cooperation and strengthening strategic partnership.
