Premier Li Qiang Meets Micronesian President to Deepen Strategic Partnership

Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with President Wesley W. Simina of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) on Wednesday in Beijing, marking a significant step in strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.

During the meeting, Premier Li emphasized China’s readiness to collaborate with the FSM to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state. He highlighted the importance of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation to deliver more tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries.

“Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 35 years ago, our bilateral relations have made substantial progress,” Li said. “China-FSM friendship has been strengthened over the years, and our cooperation has yielded fruitful results.”

President Simina expressed his appreciation for China’s longstanding support and reiterated the FSM’s commitment to enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including infrastructure, trade, and cultural exchange.

The leaders discussed avenues for deepening ties in areas such as maritime cooperation, sustainable development, and regional stability. Both sides agreed to work closely to promote peace and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.

The meeting underscores the dynamic role that both nations play in global affairs and their shared vision for a future marked by collaboration and mutual respect.
