Senior Chinese Official and Singaporean Deputy PM Discuss Economic Cooperation in Beijing

Beijing, China – In a significant move to strengthen regional economic ties, Senior Chinese official He Lifeng met with Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies Heng Swee Keat on Wednesday in Beijing.

The two leaders engaged in in-depth discussions on the macroeconomic situation and explored avenues to enhance financial cooperation between China and Singapore. He Lifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Commission for Financial and Economic Affairs, underscored the comprehensive, high-quality, and future-oriented partnership shared by the two nations.

“China is willing to work with Singapore to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and deepen high-quality cooperation in various fields,” He Lifeng stated, highlighting China’s commitment to collaborative development.

Heng Swee Keat affirmed Singapore’s dedication to the bilateral relationship, stating, “Singapore attaches great importance to bilateral relations and is willing to deepen cooperation with China in fields such as the economy, trade, and finance to promote common development and prosperity.”
