China’s top political advisory body, the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), convened a consultation session on Friday to discuss the promotion of a law-based business environment.
Presided over by Wang Huning, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the meeting focused on leveraging the CPPCC’s role as a specialized consultative body. Wang emphasized the necessity for political advisors to address key issues, conduct in-depth research, and propose effective solutions to advance a law-based business environment.
Ten members of the CPPCC National Committee shared their insights during the session. They stressed the importance of improving and optimizing legislation related to the business environment, strengthening judicial guarantees, and fostering a stable, transparent, procedure-based, and predictable legal framework for businesses. The advisors also highlighted the need to enhance the social credit system.
Officials from the Supreme People’s Court, the Ministry of Justice, and the State Administration for Market Regulation provided briefings on relevant matters. They engaged in discussions with the political advisors, exchanging views to collaborate on promoting a law-based business environment.
