Chinese Vice Premier and IMF Chief Discuss Global Economic Issues in Beijing

Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on Monday in Beijing to discuss major international economic and financial issues.

During the meeting, He Lifeng highlighted the continued stabilization and improvement of China’s economy. He noted that internal dynamics are increasing and that the development of new, high-quality productive forces will further promote high-quality development in the country.

“The Chinese government is willing to continue supporting the IMF in making new contributions to global stability and prosperity,” He said. He Lifeng is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

Kristalina Georgieva expressed her belief that China’s efforts to transform its growth model and pursue high-quality financial development will inject new momentum into global economic growth.

The meeting underscores China’s commitment to collaborating with international organizations to address global economic challenges and to promote stability and prosperity worldwide.
