Novak Djokovic Stunned by Lucky Loser Luca Nardi at Indian Wells

In a surprising turn of events at the Indian Wells Masters on Monday, 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic was defeated by 20-year-old lucky loser Luca Nardi 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the third round. This unexpected loss ended Djokovic’s pursuit of a record sixth title at the prestigious tournament in California.

Nardi, ranked 123rd in the world, had initially lost in the qualifiers to Belgium’s David Goffin. However, he secured a spot in the main draw after Argentina’s Tomas Etcheverry withdrew due to injury. Seizing the unexpected opportunity, Nardi delivered a remarkable performance against Djokovic, showcasing his talent on the big stage.

Nardi’s victory propels him into the fourth round, where he will face local favorite Tommy Paul, who defeated France’s Ugo Humbert.

In other matches, Aryna Sabalenka overpowered Emma Raducanu, advancing further in the tournament. Raducanu, known for her dynamic play and Asian heritage, continues to be a fan favorite across the continent.
