Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has arrived in Beijing to participate in the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, scheduled to take place from October 17 to 18. His attendance underscores Serbia’s commitment to strengthening ties with China and engaging in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The Belt and Road Forum is a significant international event that gathers leaders and representatives from various countries to discuss cooperation under the Belt and Road framework. The initiative, proposed by China in 2013, aims to enhance regional connectivity and embrace a brighter future through mutual development.
President Vucic’s visit to Beijing reflects the growing partnership between Serbia and China. Over recent years, the two nations have collaborated on numerous infrastructure projects, including the modernization of railways and roads in Serbia, boosting economic growth and regional connectivity.
“Our participation in the Belt and Road Initiative has brought substantial benefits to Serbia,” President Vucic stated prior to his departure. “We look forward to deepening our cooperation with China and other partner countries to promote development and prosperity.”
The forum provides an opportunity for Serbia to engage with other participating countries, explore new avenues for cooperation, and discuss shared interests in economic development, trade, and cultural exchange.
As the Belt and Road Forum commences, global attention turns to Beijing, where leaders will address pressing issues and explore collaborative solutions to promote sustainable development across Asia and beyond.
President Vucic’s attendance at the forum signifies Serbia’s ongoing commitment to playing an active role in international cooperation efforts, fostering stronger ties within the global community, and contributing to the shared goals of the Belt and Road Initiative.
