Shandong Luneng Advances to CTT Super League Women’s Final After Thrilling Semifinal Clash

Shandong Luneng's women's table tennis team secured their place in the 2025 Chinese Table Tennis Super League final with a dramatic 3-1 semifinal victory over East China University of Science and Technology in Nanjing. The December 27 showdown saw world No. 2 Wang Manyu deliver crucial performances, winning two singles matches to propel her team forward.

The semifinal opened with a tense doubles match where Chen Xingtong and Qian Tianyi staged a comeback from 1-2 down to claim victory. Wang Manyu then demonstrated her championship pedigree, overcoming Wang Yidi in a four-game singles battle that saw intense rallies and strategic shot placement.

While Chen Xingtong faltered in her second match against Wang Xiaotong, Wang Manyu returned to decisively close out the semifinal against Li Yake. The final game saw the Olympic medalist unleash a nine-point scoring streak to secure Shandong's victory with an emphatic 11-2 finish.

Shandong Luneng will now face Shenzhen University in the championship match, setting up what promises to be one of the most anticipated clashes in recent CTT Super League history.
