China Condemns U.S. Over ‘Unacceptable Risks’ Label on Tech Giant DJI

China has strongly criticized the United States for adding Shenzhen-based drone manufacturer DJI to a national security risk list, calling the move an unjustified suppression of Chinese businesses. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian stated on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, that Washington must 'correct its wrongdoings' and ensure fair treatment for companies from the Chinese mainland.

The remarks follow Monday's announcement by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) barring approvals of new DJI drone models for American markets. Lin emphasized that the U.S. is 'overstretching national security concepts' through discriminatory policies, noting that such actions undermine global trade norms.

DJI, which controls over 70% of the global consumer drone market, faces increasing scrutiny in Western markets amid ongoing U.S.-China tech tensions. Analysts suggest this latest development could further complicate cross-border technology collaborations as 2025 concludes with heightened trade policy debates.
