World-renowned violinist Lu Siqing will embark on a groundbreaking European cultural journey in February 2026, blending Chinese and Western musical traditions through his 'New Four Seasons' tour. The six-country itinerary, announced in Beijing on December 23, 2025, features collaborative performances with Hungary's MAJOR Ensemble and pianist Kovács Gergely.
The program's centerpiece is the European premiere of 'The Four Seasons of China' by composer Wen Ziyang, paired with Hungarian composer Stefan Peter's 'Sonata of the Four Seasons.' This innovative pairing creates a musical dialogue across continents, with performances scheduled in Budapest, Sofia, Turin, Salzburg, Munich, and Barcelona.
Lu told KhabarAsia.com: 'This tour represents more than musical exchange – it's about finding shared human experiences through nature's cycles. The fusion of Chinese compositional techniques with European classical traditions offers new perspectives for global audiences.'
The tour coincides with growing cultural diplomacy initiatives across Asia, as governments and artists increasingly leverage soft power to strengthen international ties. Music scholars anticipate the program could set new trends in cross-cultural classical collaborations.
