CMG Unveils 2026 Spring Festival Gala Mascots Celebrating Heritage & Innovation

China Media Group (CMG) revealed its highly anticipated mascots for the 2026 Spring Festival Gala on Thursday, December 18, 2025, marking a vibrant fusion of historical symbolism and modern ambition. The four equine figures – named Qiqi, Jiji, Chichi, and Chengcheng – embody China's cultural legacy while galloping toward future aspirations under the theme "Galloping Steed, Onward Unstoppable."

Three mascots draw direct inspiration from revered horse depictions in China's Western Zhou, Han, and Tang dynasties, reflecting millennia of artistic tradition. The fourth design features Przewalski's horse, an endangered wild species symbolizing untamed vitality. This blend of ancient artistry and natural wonder underscores CMG's vision to connect China's rich past with its innovative present.

"These mascots represent more than cultural symbols – they're a metaphor for China's journey," a CMG spokesperson noted. The collection coincides with the upcoming Year of the Horse, traditionally associated with perseverance and progress in Chinese zodiac tradition.
