China Urges Japan to Cease Military Exercise Interference

China has called on Japan to immediately halt its interference with Chinese military exercises, labeling Tokyo's recent actions as "dangerous" and politically motivated. The Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a stern statement on December 8, 2025, following remarks by Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi, who accused Beijing of escalating tensions during a press conference the previous day.

A ministry spokesperson emphasized that Japan's frequent close-in reconnaissance near Chinese military activities poses significant security risks. "China rejects Japan's baseless protests and has lodged counter-protests in both Beijing and Tokyo," the spokesperson stated, adding that claims of "radar illumination" were fabricated to mislead international observers.

The diplomatic clash comes amid heightened regional security concerns in East Asia. Analysts note that such incidents highlight ongoing challenges in cross-strait relations and broader Asia-Pacific stability. The Chinese military maintains that its exercises fall within sovereign rights, urging Japan to avoid "ill-intentioned" provocations.
