Mainland Tech Boosts Hong Kong Fire Rescue Efforts

Emergency teams in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region continue search operations at Tai Po's Wang Fuk Court following a deadly fire, with advanced equipment from the Chinese mainland proving vital to the mission. Over 30,000 mainland-supplied tools are enhancing efficiency and safety for responders working in hazardous conditions.

Hong Kong Police Force's Disaster Victim Identification Unit Head Cheng Ka-chun highlighted the impact of specialized gear on Friday. Exoskeleton suits enable officers to carry remains up 30+ floors without power, reducing physical strain. 'The suits make our work both safer and more efficient,' Cheng stated.

A wearable lighting system has also addressed critical visibility challenges. With adjustable brightness modes, responders navigate pitch-black interiors and cluttered spaces more effectively, minimizing oversight risks during evidence collection.

The cross-regional collaboration underscores strengthened emergency response mechanisms, with mainland authorities providing sustained logistical support since the blaze began. Over 100 officers remain deployed at the site as recovery efforts enter their final stages.
