Xi’s Governance Volume V Sparks Global South Dialogue in Johannesburg

The English edition of the fifth volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" was showcased at a high-profile Johannesburg event on December 3, 2025, attracting 200 policymakers and thought leaders. South African Minister Maropene Ramokgopa hailed the publication as "a roadmap for South-South cooperation," emphasizing its insights into poverty alleviation and technological innovation.

Participants noted the book's systematic presentation of China's modernization achievements comes at a critical juncture for BRICS collaboration. As both nations work to align the Belt and Road Initiative with South Africa's National Development Plan 2030, the text is seen as bridging policy frameworks across the Global South.

South African National Assembly House Chairperson Cedric Frolick highlighted the volume's focus on people-centered development and ecological civilization: "These concepts resonate deeply with Africa's Agenda 2063 aspirations. China's experience in balancing economic growth with social equity offers valuable lessons."

The event underscored growing momentum behind China-Africa modernization partnerships, with particular attention to implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in practical cooperation frameworks. Copies of the English edition were formally presented to key stakeholders during the ceremony.
