China, Indonesia Unite on Human Rights and Development at Jakarta Symposium

China and Indonesia co-hosted a symposium in Jakarta on Tuesday, emphasizing the critical role of development in advancing human rights. The event, organized by the China Society for Human Rights Studies and Indonesia's Gentala Institute, brought together scholars and experts to explore synergies between economic progress and social equity.

Discussions centered on safeguarding minority rights, promoting common prosperity, and ensuring equal access to development opportunities. Participants highlighted case studies from both nations, including a recent visit by international officials and Chinese scholars to Tantou Village in Jiangxi Province, where rural revitalization initiatives have boosted local livelihoods through sustainable industries.

Attendees unanimously affirmed that countries must pursue human rights frameworks tailored to their unique contexts while fostering cross-border cooperation. The symposium concluded with a call for strengthened solidarity to address global inequalities, aligning with this year's focus on inclusive growth across Asia.
