China Media Group (CMG) is accelerating preparations for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics with the deployment of its cutting-edge 'China Red' 4K/8K broadcast fleet. Two ultra-high-definition broadcast vehicles and support units will depart from Jiangsu Province's Taicang Port on Monday aboard the Yuan Hai Kou, a pioneering LNG dual-fuel car carrier equipped with photovoltaic technology.
The 199.9-meter vessel, capable of transporting 12 decks of vehicles, underscores China's commitment to sustainable logistics. Its 25-day Mediterranean voyage will deliver critical broadcasting infrastructure to Milan's San Siro Stadium by January 13, 2026 – three weeks before the Games' February 6 opening ceremony.
This deployment follows CMG's successful 8K broadcast trials during recent Asian sporting events. The fleet will produce unprecedented visual coverage for global audiences while demonstrating technological cooperation between Chinese and Italian media engineers.
Industry analysts note the shipment aligns with growing demand for energy-efficient international event logistics, particularly as Asia strengthens its role in global sports broadcasting. The Winter Olympics project is expected to set new benchmarks for real-time ultra-high-definition content delivery across multiple time zones.
