China's top Taiwan affairs official Song Tao issued a stern warning to Japan on Thursday, November 27, 2025, stating the Chinese mainland will not tolerate any interference in Taiwan-related matters. The remarks came during a meeting with a delegation from Taiwan's fishing sector led by Lin Pin-kuan, chairman of the Non-Partisan Solidarity Union.
"Any external interference by Japan or other countries is doomed to fail," said Song, who heads both the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office. He emphasized that cross-strait relations remain an internal affair requiring adherence to the one-China principle.
While reaffirming Beijing's commitment to grassroots development in Taiwan, Song pledged to create better opportunities for residents in key industries like agriculture and fisheries. The meeting occurred amid growing regional attention to cross-strait dynamics as 2025 draws to a close.
Lin Pin-kuan echoed the sentiment of unity, stating: "Both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one China and are one family." He called for expanded cooperation between industries across the strait to benefit residents on both sides.
