Pakistan Denies Cross-Border Strikes in Afghanistan Amid Tensions

Pakistan's military has firmly denied conducting cross-border operations in Afghanistan following Kabul's claims of air strikes killing 10 people in the eastern region this week. The development comes amid escalating tensions between the neighboring nations, with both sides accusing each other of violating territorial sovereignty.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) spokesperson Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated on November 25, 2025 that "Pakistan always makes formal announcements for military operations," dismissing recent Afghan allegations as "incorrect." The military official urged Afghan authorities to take "verifiable action" against militant groups operating from Afghan territory, emphasizing that dialogue remains conditional on concrete counterterrorism measures.

Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid condemned the alleged strikes as "an attack on Afghanistan's sovereignty," warning of a "necessary response at the proper time." The exchange follows deadly clashes along the border in October 2025 that resulted in casualties on both sides.

Security analysts suggest the renewed tensions could complicate regional counterterrorism efforts and impact ongoing diplomatic initiatives. The situation remains fluid as both nations navigate complex security challenges while maintaining essential trade and humanitarian corridors.
