China Successfully Launches Shiyan-21 Satellite for Advanced Communication Tests

China advanced its space capabilities with the successful launch of the Shiyan-21 satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province on November 21. The Long March-3B carrier rocket lifted off at 6:55 p.m. Beijing Time, marking the 609th mission for the Long March series.

The newly deployed satellite will focus on enhancing satellite communication networks, broadcasting services, and high-speed data transmission across Asia. Technical tests conducted through Shiyan-21 aim to refine next-generation communication technologies, potentially benefiting sectors ranging from emergency response systems to rural connectivity projects.

This launch underscores China’s growing role in space innovation, with the Long March rockets now supporting over 1,400 operational satellites globally. Analysts highlight the mission’s strategic importance for regional digital infrastructure development as demand for reliable communication services surges.
