Guangdong's Liu Jingyang stunned the women's 100m hurdles field with a 12.81-second personal best, defeating 2023 Asian Games champion Lin Yuwei and social media sensation Wu Yanni. The victory marks Liu's breakthrough moment in domestic competition.

Teen sprinter Chen Yujie continued her meteoric rise, adding 200m gold to her 100m title. The 16-year-old Zhejiang athlete held off seasoned rivals to clock 23.02 seconds, reinforcing China's growing depth in women's sprinting.
