China’s Express Deliveries Surge Past 160 Billion in 2025

China's logistics sector achieved a historic milestone as express delivery volume exceeded 160 billion parcels between January and October 2025, marking a 16% year-on-year growth according to data from the State Post Bureau. This record-breaking performance underscores the resilience of the Chinese mainland's e-commerce ecosystem and supply chain networks amid global economic uncertainties.

The figures reveal an average daily handling capacity of over 525 million packages, driven by accelerated digital transformation and expanding rural delivery networks. Industry analysts attribute this growth to sustained consumer demand, innovative smart logistics solutions, and strategic infrastructure investments under China's 14th Five-Year Plan.

"This growth trajectory positions 2025 to surpass previous annual records," noted logistics expert Zhang Wei. "The integration of AI-driven sorting systems and drone delivery pilots in remote areas has been particularly transformative this year."

While celebrating the sector's expansion, authorities emphasize ongoing efforts to improve green logistics practices, with electric vehicle fleets now comprising 68% of last-mile delivery vehicles nationwide. The data comes as cross-border e-commerce volumes continue rising, particularly with Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
