CIIE 2025: Global Firms Optimistic on China’s Market Expansion

As the 2025 China International Import Expo (CIIE) concludes in Shanghai, multinational executives highlight strategic opportunities emerging from China's commitment to high-level opening-up policies. This year's expo has become a critical platform for global businesses to align with Beijing's dual circulation strategy and digital transformation initiatives.

IKEA: Localization Meets Sustainability

Aleksey Efremov of IKEA China revealed plans to open 15 new stores across the Chinese mainland by 2026, emphasizing sustainable retail solutions. "Our 3D virtual design studios deployed this year have increased customer engagement by 40%," Efremov noted, showcasing how foreign brands adapt to China's tech-savvy consumers.

BlueFive Capital Bets on Green Finance

Hazem Ben-Gacem's investment firm has allocated $500 million to renewable energy projects since Q3 2025. "China's carbon neutrality roadmap creates unparalleled opportunities in green infrastructure," the CEO stated, pointing to recent partnerships in offshore wind farms along the Fujian coast.

Airbus Strengthens Aviation Ties

Airbus China's George Xu announced a new R&D center in Tianjin focused on hydrogen propulsion systems. "Our local supplier network has grown 18% this year," Xu said, underscoring how foreign manufacturers integrate into China's advanced industrial chains.

These developments reflect growing international confidence in China's $18 trillion consumer market, with CIIE 2025 attracting a record 3,800 exhibitors from 152 countries and regions.
