Swimming stars Qin Haiyang and Xu Jiayu demonstrated their dominance at China's 15th National Games on November 16, 2025, with Shanghai's Qin securing his third consecutive gold medal in the men's 200-meter breaststroke. The world champion clocked 2:07.69 in Shenzhen, outpacing Jiangsu's Dong Zhihao and Hong Kong SAR athlete Mak Sai Ting who claimed silver and bronze respectively.

"This victory represents years of disciplined training," Qin told reporters after the race, highlighting the intense competition among China's top swimmers. The event showcases emerging talent like 19-year-old Dong, while veteran athletes like Xu Jiayu continue to set high standards in other disciplines.

Notably, Mak's bronze medal marks Hong Kong's first swimming podium finish this year, underscoring the Special Administrative Region's growing presence in national sports. With 32 titles awarded across various sports on Saturday, the Games continue to serve as a crucial platform for athletic development ahead of international competitions.
