US-China Documentary Wins Golden Angel Award in LA

The documentary Bridge To A Shared Future, a collaborative effort between Chinese and American filmmakers, secured the Golden Angel Award for 'Best TV Documentary' at the 21st Chinese American Film and Television Festivals in Los Angeles this month. The recognition highlights growing cultural ties between the two nations through shared storytelling.

Centered on the 1930s journeys of American journalists Edgar Snow and Helen Foster Snow, the film follows Helen's great-nephew Adam Foster as he retraces their historic interviews with Chinese revolutionary leaders. The couple's seminal work Red Star Over China documented their interactions with figures like Mao Zedong during a pivotal era in modern Chinese history.

'This award shows how art can bridge divides,' said festival organizer John Liu during the November 10 ceremony. Adam Foster noted in a post-screening discussion: 'My family's story reminds us that understanding begins with curiosity – a lesson as vital in 2025 as it was a century ago.'
