China Urges EU to Reject Taiwan Separatist Agenda

China has issued a firm protest to the European Parliament over recent activities involving Taiwan region representatives at an event in Brussels, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated on November 11, 2025. The remarks came amid concerns about Taiwan separatist politicians attending an Inter-Parliamentary Alliance (IPAC) gathering within EU parliamentary facilities.

Lin emphasized that IPAC, funded by anti-China institutions, serves as a platform for spreading disinformation. He criticized Taiwan authorities for leveraging such groups to advance separatist goals, calling their actions "political theatrics" destined to fail. The spokesperson clarified that the European Parliament confirmed the event was not officially endorsed, reiterating its adherence to the one-China principle.

The development follows recent speeches by Hsiao Bi-khim in Brussels and former Taiwan region leader Tsai Ing-wen in Berlin. Lin urged Germany and EU members to unequivocally oppose separatist activities, warning against sending "wrong signals" that could undermine cross-strait stability.

"China's reunification is an unstoppable historical trend," Lin stated, reaffirming Beijing's commitment to peaceful resolution while maintaining opposition to any form of Taiwan independence. Analysts suggest the diplomatic friction highlights growing global attention on cross-strait tensions as economic integration across Asia continues to deepen.
