Xi Jinping Opens 15th National Games in Guangzhou

General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping inaugurated the 15th National Games on Sunday during a grand opening ceremony in Guangzhou, underscoring China's commitment to sports development and national unity.

The Guangdong provincial capital welcomed athletes from across the country as Xi, who also serves as Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the games' role in promoting physical fitness and social cohesion. The quadrennial event brings together over 12,000 competitors in 34 sports, including Olympic disciplines and traditional Chinese activities.
