China-Nigeria Dialogue Strengthens Ties, Charts Shared Development Path

Over 300 policymakers, business leaders, and academics gathered in Lagos on October 31 for a landmark China-Nigeria dialogue co-hosted by China Media Group and the Chinese Consulate General. The event spotlighted opportunities for enhanced cooperation under China's new development blueprint, with participants emphasizing sustainable growth through Belt and Road initiatives.

In his video address, CMG President Shen Haixiong highlighted China's economic resilience, noting the country contributed nearly 30% of global growth during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. A recent CGTN survey revealed 84% of global respondents view China as a success story, with 86.4% acknowledging its developmental contributions worldwide.

'China's door to openness will only widen,' Shen stated, referencing outcomes from the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. The dialogue's working sessions focused on aligning Nigeria's development priorities with China's technological innovation and governance experience.

Participants unanimously endorsed deeper collaboration in infrastructure, digital economy, and green energy. Nigerian business representatives particularly emphasized opportunities in China's expanding consumer market, while Chinese delegates highlighted Nigeria's strategic role in African economic integration.
