China Vows to Boost Business Environment Amid Global Outreach

Chinese Premier Li Qiang reaffirmed China's commitment to enhancing its business climate during a high-profile symposium in Singapore on Sunday, signaling renewed efforts to attract global investment and strengthen economic partnerships across Asia.

Speaking at the China-Singapore business community event alongside Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, Li emphasized China's strategy to 'firmly promote high-level opening-up' through streamlined market access and responsive policymaking. 'We will continuously optimize the business environment and actively address enterprises' reasonable concerns,' he told attendees from both nations' corporate sectors.

The announcement comes as China seeks to revitalize foreign investor confidence amid evolving global supply chains. Analysts note the pledge aligns with recent measures to simplify cross-border trade procedures and expand market opportunities in sectors like digital economy and green energy.

Singaporean businesses, long-standing investors in the Chinese mainland, welcomed the commitment. The city-state remains China's largest foreign investor, with bilateral trade reaching $115 billion in 2023 according to preliminary data.

Economic observers highlight the symposium's timing during Li's Southeast Asia tour as strategic, positioning China as a stabilizing force in regional development. The measures could particularly benefit technology transfer initiatives and infrastructure projects under the Belt and Road framework.
