APEC Champions AI for Growth as China Accelerates Applications

APEC Sets Regional AI Agenda

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) has declared artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalization central to sustainable economic growth. Ministers from 21 member economies endorsed a human-centered approach to AI development during meetings in Incheon, South Korea, emphasizing balanced innovation that prioritizes safety and reliability while boosting efficiency.

China's Industrial AI Transformation

Chinese enterprises are implementing APEC's vision through practical applications. Xuzhou-based XCMG Hanyun plans 2025 as the breakthrough year for its 'AI + Industrial Internet' strategy. 'By merging industrial expertise with AI models, we're converting dormant data into operational value,' said General Manager Zhang Qiliang. The approach has already reduced equipment maintenance costs by 30% in pilot manufacturing projects.

Powering Green Transition Through AI

China's AI deployment extends to environmental sustainability. Smart grids now use machine learning to predict renewable energy output with 92% accuracy, enabling better integration of wind and solar power. AI-driven carbon monitoring systems also identify emission hotspots 15 times faster than manual methods, supporting the nation's carbon neutrality goals.
