China’s Economy Grows 5.2% in First Three Quarters of 2025

China's economy maintained steady growth with a 5.2% year-on-year expansion in the first nine months of 2025, according to data released Monday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The figure reflects sustained recovery momentum despite global economic headwinds, positioning the world's second-largest economy as a stabilizing force in Asia.

Third-quarter growth reached 4.8%, slightly moderating from earlier in the year but aligning with analysts' expectations. NBS officials attributed the performance to strengthened industrial output, resilient consumer spending, and strategic government investments in high-tech manufacturing and green energy sectors.

"The fundamentals of long-term growth remain intact," an NBS spokesperson stated, highlighting stable employment figures and controlled inflation. However, analysts note challenges including soft global demand for exports and ongoing adjustments in the real estate market.

Business leaders and investors are monitoring China's economic indicators closely, as its performance significantly impacts regional supply chains and commodity markets. The latest data comes as Asian governments prepare for key trade negotiations and infrastructure initiatives expected to shape 2026 economic forecasts.
