Chinese President Xi Jinping Sends Festive Greetings to Beijing’s Xinfadi Market Vendors

On January 18, Chinese President Xi Jinping extended festive greetings via video link to vendors at Beijing’s Xinfadi wholesale market, one of the largest fresh farm-produce marketplaces in the Chinese mainland.

The Xinfadi market is home to over 4,500 vendors, nearly half of whom have remained on-site to ensure a steady supply of fresh produce for Beijing residents during the festive season. President Xi’s personal greetings and words of encouragement have greatly uplifted the spirits of the vendors.

“President Xi’s concern makes us more confident about the future,” said Li Zhongyue, a corn vendor who participated in the video call. The President’s outreach highlights the government’s acknowledgment of the essential role these vendors play in maintaining food security and supporting the local economy.

The vendors’ dedication reflects a broader commitment across the nation to sustain vital services amidst ongoing challenges. Their efforts not only keep the market vibrant but also contribute to the well-being of millions in the capital city.

President Xi’s engagement with grassroots communities underscores the importance of unity and collective effort as China continues to navigate its development goals.
