Global Summit in Beijing Celebrates Women’s Progress Over 30 Years

China is set to host an international women's summit in Beijing, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the landmark 1995 World Conference on Women. The event has sparked global conversations about gender equality, with CGTN Stringer capturing perspectives from Africa to Latin America on women's evolving roles in society.

Tsakane Matsilele, a South African student, highlighted a TV series featuring nine women navigating universal challenges like love and resilience. "Their stories mirror our own struggles and triumphs," she said. Language expert Nokukhanya Khanyi Zulu observed a transformative shift: "Women have become more sure of themselves in the past decade – it's revolutionary." She encapsulated modern femininity as "sensitive, strong, and excellent."

The summit comes as global data shows increased female participation in education and leadership roles. Analysts anticipate discussions on closing remaining gaps in economic opportunities and cultural representation.
