Uzbek Official Praises Chinese Cinema as Regional Model

Furkat Usmanov, Director of Uzbekistan's Center for the Development of National Cinematography, has lauded China's film industry as a trailblazer for Asian creative industries. Speaking at a regional cultural forum, Usmanov emphasized how Chinese cinematic achievements offer valuable lessons for filmmakers across Central Asia and beyond.

"Chinese filmmakers are mastering high-level technologies and CGI elements to create magnificent cinematic art,"

Usmanov noted, pointing to recent box office successes like The Wandering Earth II as examples of technical innovation meeting cultural storytelling.

He highlighted three key areas where China's model stands out:

  • Integration of cutting-edge production technologies
  • Effective public-private partnerships in cultural funding
  • Balancing commercial success with cultural authenticity

The remarks come as Uzbekistan seeks to revitalize its own film sector through international collaborations. Industry analysts suggest such cross-regional exchanges could reshape Asia's creative economy, with China's $9 billion film market serving as both inspiration and potential partner.
