China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has solidified its position as the nation's cotton powerhouse, producing 5.69 million tonnes in 2024 – accounting for 92.3% of the country's total output. This marks the 32nd consecutive year the region has led national cotton production, according to a white paper released by the State Council Information Office.

The report highlights a 97% mechanization rate across plowing, planting, and harvesting operations, showcasing Xinjiang's agricultural modernization. Titled "CPC Guidelines for Governing Xinjiang in the New Era: Practice and Achievements," the document emphasizes strategic development of industrial capabilities aligned with national priorities.
