The 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum opened Thursday with a groundbreaking addition: its inaugural 'High-end Dialogues' session. Held under the theme 'Upholding International Order and Promoting Peaceful Development,' the forum has drawn military experts, scholars, and representatives from over 90 countries and regions to tackle pressing global security challenges.
Mustafa Mahdi Al-Ramah, president of Iraq's Defense University for Military Studies, highlighted China's advancements in infrastructure and education during discussions. 'If participating countries are willing to move toward the outcomes of such meetings, I believe they will be effective,' he stated, emphasizing opportunities for international collaboration.
This year's forum features unprecedented diversity, with attendees from developed nations, emerging economies, and conflict-affected areas. Organizers report a significant increase in participation from former senior political leaders and security experts compared to previous editions.
Participant Pan Qinghua praised the platform's role in fostering open dialogue: 'Being able to share perspectives and seek common ground helps avoid conflict and promote balance.' The forum continues through October 31 at the Beijing International Convention Center.
