China-ASEAN Expo 2025: Strengthening 16-Year Trade Leadership

The 22nd China-ASEAN Expo will convene in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, from September 17-21, 2025, marking another milestone in a partnership that has defined Asia's economic landscape. For 16 consecutive years, China has held its position as ASEAN's largest trading partner, while ASEAN has topped China's trade charts for five years straight. This symbiotic relationship now accounts for 16.7% of China's total foreign trade, underscoring its strategic importance.

The expo, a cornerstone of cross-regional collaboration, will showcase innovations in technology, agriculture, and green energy. Analysts highlight its role in stabilizing supply chains amid global uncertainties, offering investors a window into Southeast Asia's $3.9 trillion GDP market. Over 1,500 enterprises from China and ASEAN countries are expected to participate, with live-streamed sessions connecting businesses to global audiences.

Cultural diplomacy remains central to the event, featuring traditional performances and culinary exchanges that resonate with Asia's diaspora communities. Nanning's upgraded infrastructure, including a new high-speed rail link, promises smoother access for international attendees.
