Home Team Dominates 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Event
Chinese athletes Yao Qianxun and Hu Kai delivered a stellar performance at the ISSF World Cup in Ningbo, securing gold in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team event on Tuesday. The duo topped qualifications with 585 points – four ahead of Czech rivals Veronika Schejbalova and Jindrich Dubovy – before dominating the final 17-5.
Strategic Play Secures Victory
After an initial 3-3 tie, the Chinese pair executed precise shots to build a commanding 9-3 lead. Despite a tactical timeout by their opponents and subsequent high-scoring attempts, Yao and Hu maintained composure to seal China's first gold of the tournament. "Winning on home soil is an honor," said Hu, who averaged 10.1 points in the final. "We'll keep pushing for more achievements."
Hungary's Veronika Major and Akos Karoly Nagy claimed bronze after defeating neutral athletes Iana Enina and Anton Aristarkhov 17-13. The event marks a crucial step in Olympic qualifications, with athletes vying for Paris 2024 spots.
