Xi Jinping, Turkmen President Strengthen Ties in Beijing Talks

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation during a high-profile meeting in Beijing on Tuesday. The discussions focused on energy partnerships, infrastructure development, and regional security, reflecting the strategic importance of China-Turkmenistan relations in Central Asia.

Xi emphasized the role of the Belt and Road Initiative in fostering connectivity, stating, "Our nations share a vision for sustainable growth through mutual respect and shared development goals." Berdimuhamedov highlighted Turkmenistan's natural gas exports to the Chinese mainland, which have exceeded 400 billion cubic meters since 2009, as a cornerstone of economic collaboration.

The talks also addressed enhanced cultural exchanges and educational programs, aligning with both nations' efforts to strengthen people-to-people ties. Analysts note the timing coincides with the 10th anniversary of the China-Central Asia Gas Pipeline's operation, a critical energy artery serving over 500 million residents in 27 Chinese provinces.
