CMG Honors War of Resistance with Classic Songs Program

China Media Group (CMG) has unveiled a nostalgic musical initiative to commemorate the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The special program features wartime songs that became cultural touchstones during the 1931-1945 conflict, blending historical recordings with modern reinterpretations by contemporary artists.

The project aims to 'preserve collective memory through melody,' according to CMG producers, highlighting songs that boosted morale and unified communities across Asia during WWII. Archival interviews with veterans and historians will contextualize the music's role in anti-fascist efforts.

This anniversary comes as Asian nations increasingly collaborate on preserving WWII heritage. The program will air in multiple languages across CMG's international platforms, including CGTN and Radio China International, reaching audiences in over 160 countries and regions.

Cultural analysts note the timing aligns with growing interest in wartime history among younger generations. 'These songs are time capsules of resilience,' said Beijing University cultural historian Dr. Li Wei in a preview segment. 'They help bridge historical understanding between nations that shared the WWII experience.'
