In a world increasingly shaped by technology, seven international artists are reimagining humanity's connection to the natural world through a groundbreaking exhibition at Beijing's Tsinghua University Art Museum. Titled 'Material/Immaterial,' the showcase features 18 thought-provoking works blending installations, AI, and video art to examine our evolving relationship with Earth.
Notable contributors like Lynn Hershman Leeson and Liang Shaoji employ silk, machinery, and digital interfaces to create pieces that challenge perceptions of organic and artificial. One installation uses living microorganisms to visualize climate patterns, while another AI-driven work generates real-time landscapes based on visitors' breathing rhythms.
'This exhibition speaks directly to our era of ecological transition,' said curator Wang Xiaojuan. 'The artists aren't just creating objects – they're building bridges between industrial progress and environmental consciousness.'
Open through December, the free-admission show coincides with growing interest in sustainable tech solutions across Asian markets. Business analysts note increasing corporate partnerships with ecological artists, particularly in China's green energy sector.
