The 10th Great Wall Cup International Youth Football Invitational Tournament launched in Beijing on August 14, gathering eight elite U16 teams from across Asia and Europe. The event, celebrated as a pinnacle of youth sports diplomacy, blends competitive matches with cultural immersion to foster global connections.

Teams from Real Madrid CF (Spain), Sporting CP (Portugal), AJ Auxerre (France), and clubs from Serbia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, the Republic of Korea, and Beijing will compete over six days. The tournament’s Cultural Day will see players explore the Great Wall and attend Peking Opera performances, bridging athleticism with Beijing’s millennia-old heritage.

Since 2010, the Great Wall Cup has advanced Beijing’s football development goals under the city’s Dual Olympic City initiative, emphasizing youth training and international collaboration. Organizers highlight its role in nurturing talent while strengthening cross-cultural understanding through sport.
