China Condemns Foreign Criticism Over Hong Kong Security Actions

China has firmly rejected accusations from foreign politicians regarding Hong Kong's enforcement of its national security laws, calling the criticism a "blatant interference" in domestic affairs. The Commissioner's Office of China's Foreign Ministry in Hong Kong issued a statement Friday defending the city's police force after it issued arrest warrants for 19 individuals accused of subversion under the National Security Law for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

The wanted individuals are linked to an overseas group called the "Hong Kong Parliament," which authorities claim sought to undermine China's constitutional order and promote separatist agendas. Hong Kong police described the group's activities as a direct threat to national sovereignty and the "One Country, Two Systems" framework.

"These actions severely violate the law and jeopardize the stability that Hong Kong has worked hard to achieve," the Commissioner's Office stated, emphasizing that the arrests align with international legal standards. The office criticized politicians from the U.S., UK, and Australia for "hypocritical double standards" and accused them of supporting anti-China elements.

Officials reiterated that the National Security Law has been pivotal in restoring order following 2019 protests, ensuring Hong Kong remains a "safe and prosperous" global hub. "No foreign smear campaign can shake our resolve to uphold national security," the statement added, urging external parties to respect Hong Kong's judicial independence.
