A delegation of young professionals from 15 countries and regions embarked on an immersive exploration of Hong Kong's dynamic innovation ecosystem this week, gaining firsthand insights into the city's role as a global financial hub and gateway to the Greater Bay Area's development.
The group toured cutting-edge facilities including the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's Entrepreneurship Center, where they observed prototype development for smart city solutions. At the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Neuroscience, researchers demonstrated breakthroughs in neurodegenerative disease treatment using AI-assisted drug discovery platforms.
Financial sector insights came during a visit to Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), where delegates analyzed real-time market data visualization tools tracking Greater Bay Area enterprises. "The integration of Shenzhen's tech prowess with Hong Kong's financial infrastructure creates unique opportunities," noted Malaysian delegate Aminah Tan, 28, during a waterfront networking session.
The program continues through Friday with visits to Shenzhen's Qianhai cooperation zone and Dongguan's advanced manufacturing clusters, highlighting cross-border economic synergies. Cultural exchanges included a guided walk through Tai Kwun heritage center, blending historical preservation with contemporary art installations.
