Global Buyers Converge as Hainan Expo Concludes Landmark Edition
The sixth China International Consumer Products Expo concluded today in Haikou, marking a milestone as the first edition following the full implementation of special customs operations across Hainan Free Trade Port. Running from April 13 to 18, this year's event attracted over 3,000 brands from 65 countries and regions, cementing its role as a platform for international trade innovation.
Panda Brothers Steal Hearts Amid Trade Talks
While business leaders discussed cross-border e-commerce and duty-free policies, Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park offered a cultural counterpoint through its star residents – twin panda brothers Gong Gong and Shun Shun. The Uygur Autonomous Region-born pair, who arrived in 2019, have become local icons, drawing 1.2 million visitors annually.
"Their playful antics remind us why we work to preserve global connections," said expo attendee Li Wei, a Shanghai-based importer. The pandas' seven-year residency coincides with Hainan's transformation into a global trade hub, with cross-border goods flow increasing 27% year-on-year in Q1 2026.
