The sixth China International Consumer Products Expo, a cornerstone event for global trade and innovation, concludes today in Haikou, Hainan Province. This year’s expo marks a milestone as the first held since the Hainan Free Trade Port fully implemented island-wide special customs operations, streamlining cross-border commerce and reinforcing its role as a “gateway to the world.”
With over 4,000 brands from 65 countries and regions participating, the expo highlights cutting-edge consumer goods, from luxury tech to sustainable fashion. Analysts note its growing importance in connecting Asian markets with global investors, particularly amid rising demand for premium products in Southeast Asia.
Beyond business, the expo celebrates Hainan’s cultural appeal. At the Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park, panda brothers Gong Gong and Shun Shun—beloved residents since 2019—continue to charm visitors, symbolizing China’s soft-power diplomacy. “They’re ambassadors of ecological conservation,” said park director Li Wei, noting a 30% surge in tourist arrivals this year.
As the expo wraps up, stakeholders eye Hainan’s evolving role in regional trade frameworks, while travelers explore its tropical landscapes and unique biodiversity.
