In a significant move to strengthen bilateral relations, senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Cai Qi has called for the maintenance of close, institutionalized inter-party exchanges between China and Serbia. The remarks were made during a high-level meeting with a delegation led by Milos Vucevic, president of the Serbian Progressive Party.
Cai, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, emphasized that the relationship between the two nations has seen substantial growth under the direct guidance of their respective heads of state. He underscored China's commitment to implementing the consensus reached by the two leaders and continuing mutual support on core interests and major concerns.
Looking toward future growth, Cai highlighted China's readiness to deepen the alignment of development strategies and expand practical cooperation. He also stressed the importance of enhancing communication and coordination within multilateral frameworks, such as the United Nations, to foster a "China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era."
Responding to these sentiments, Milos Vucevic praised the remarkable development China has achieved under the leadership of the CPC. He expressed deep gratitude for China's unwavering support in safeguarding Serbia's national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Vucevic further noted that the Serbian Progressive Party is keen to learn from the CPC's governance experience to further propel the development of bilateral relations, signaling a desire for deeper intellectual and political synergy between the two parties.
