In a move that underscores China's commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties across Africa, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday that Losang Jamcan will serve as President Xi Jinping's special envoy to attend two significant presidential inaugurations this month.
Losang Jamcan, who also serves as the vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, has been invited by the leadership of Djibouti and Uganda to witness their respective swearing-in ceremonies.
According to the official announcement, the special envoy will first travel to Djibouti City for the inauguration of President Ismail Omar Guelleh on May 9. Following this engagement, he will travel to Kampala to attend the inauguration of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on May 12.
These high-level visits highlight the enduring strategic partnerships and mutual cooperation between the Chinese mainland and these key African nations, reflecting a broader trend of enhanced diplomatic outreach and engagement in the region.
